Jewish Prayers for Gaza

In body, in spirit, we rise
to affirm shemei rabbah,
the Great and Holy Name,
even as we grieve our deepest sorrows,
even as we mourn the loss of humanity
on a scale we can barely begin to fathom.

Let the justice of this Great Name
be magnified in our day and every day
as long as there are voices ready
to proclaim its truth.

Let it resonate with hope
for all who mourn
in our homes and in our communities,
from the river to the sea.

Let every heart be set free
and every nation disarmed;
let this Great and Holy Name
lead us toward a future of reparation,
restoration and return.
